Germany, Cologne: laying over

Leave Dusseldorf for an epic travel day with 2 layovers. Destination awesome though, so I don't mind.

30 min of the most disgruntled, loud, disorganized train ride ever, and I arrive in Cologne. Step outside the train station to a gorgeous, giant, jeweled, Gothic cathedral, the 'Kolner Dom'. The inside is lined with a long row of columns adorned with beautiful sculpting of many Jesus-es and at the back, a beautiul area for candle lighting and memorial.

Apparently this city is also home to a chocolate museum, but I don't have time. Instead I grab a coffee and sit in the sun facing a beautiful cathedral standing only metres away.

Best. Layover. Ever.
